Steve Black
Co-Founder - Director
Ex-Royal Tank Regiment, SSAFA volunteer, and the man who makes a proper cup of tea (unlike Stu). With years of experience helping veterans navigate the complexities of post-service life, Steve is the steady hand and voice of reason behind The Muster Point.
Through his work with SSAFA, he’s seen firsthand the challenges veterans face, from financial struggles to mental health battles.
His goal is simple: make sure every veteran in Stevenage has somewhere to turn and a community to rely on.
“We’ve all had our struggles after service.
The least we can do is make sure no one face them alone."

Stu Mendelson
Co-Founder - Director
Former Royal Engineer, Afghanistan veteran, and professional brew enthusiast. After experiencing firsthand the challenges of military-to-civilian transition, Stu co-founded The Muster Point to create a genuine support network for veterans, not just a phone number on a leaflet.
With years spent working alongside veteran organisations and supporting those struggling with mental health, he knows the power of community and connection. His mission? Make sure no veteran in Stevenage feels isolated or without support.
"The military taught us discipline, resilience, and the importance of camaraderie. Now, we're committed to building a community where no veteran is left behind."

Marc Wooster
Director
Former Royal Artillery soldier and current Cadet Instructor in Welwyn, Marc brings passion and purpose to engaging younger veterans through The Muster Point’s growing network.
With a focus on bridging the gap between generations of service, he’s committed to making the Veterans Drop-In a space where ex-forces personnel, regardless of age, can reconnect with their identity, find community, and look forward.
Always up for a challenge, Marc is also planning military-themed trips that reignite pride and camaraderie among veterans.
“We’ve worn the same uniform, we just need to remind each other we’re still part of the same team.”
